Harwin's capabilities have developed in response to the specialist interconnection demands of OEM electronics manufacturers and Harwin's philosophy of building for the future. With a policy of investing 10% of turnover year on year and replacing equipment on a five year cycle Harwin is able to keep up with the rate of change in technologically advanced machines.
We offer a total in-house design and manufacturing service from initial consultancy, evaluation and prototyping, through to tooling, electroplating, stamping, moulding, precision turning, auto-assembly and packaging.
Harwin can meet virtually any interconnection challenge through:

Harwin's technical expertise and total in-house manufacturing capability enable us to provide the highest quality products and allow us to respond to customer's individual needs quickly and efficiently.
In an industry that is fast changing and constantly evolving, Harwin recognises the importance of Research & Development. By investing in new technology and skills, we are able to respond to customer's individual needs quickly and efficiently.

Harwin have an unchanging belief in the total control of all the research, design and development of all tooling used within our manufacturing processes.
By developing our own mould tools, press tools and assembly equipment using the latest CAD software, not only can we supply dedicated tooling for your applications at an appropriate scale, we also retain total control over project lead times and costs. All tooling is designed to run at optimized levels ensuring efficiency and reliability over the life of the product being produced.
CAD/CAM and CNC equipment enables us to build quality mould tools for high performance production with interchangeable, close tolerance components, whether from single or multiple cavities.
Our team of designers, toolmakers and process engineers work closely together to ensure a smooth transition from design and FMEA via mould tool manufacture to process-capable production
To support a growing demand for precision metal stampings, Harwin has substantially enhanced the capacity of its stamping facilities by investing in high-speed Bruderer presses.
Highly trained Press setter/operators regularly inspect both production parts and tools and liaise constantly with toolmakers and design engineers to ensure the complete production cell operates to the best possible efficiency.
Since its formation more than 50 years ago, Harwin has specialized in the manufacture of precision turned parts for the electronics industry and has a wealth of experience in this area.
Harwin employs the latest polar co-ordinate milling CNC technology to produce highly complex components in a single operation. We have the capacity to manufacture turned parts of diameters between 0.5mm and 20mm, and up to 300mm in length, in a variety of materials including: stainless steel, aluminum, brass, mild steel, plastic, titanium and copper.
In line with the company's policy of vertical integration, Harwin designs and builds our own plating lines in order to keep pace with changing plating technology and environmental requirements. This highly efficient plating facility is an integral part of the company's manufacturing unit. In order to keep pace with increased production a substantial investment in the plating process has taken place over the last few years.
Developments within the plating facility have allowed for a number of innovative techniques to be adopted to improve the selective plating process, making it possible to achieve accuracy of the plating position to 0.2mm and better. Chemical control can now be achieved by the use of X-ray fluorescence for solution analysis giving greater accuracy and faster results. Other quality assurance methods used include atomic absorption, artificial ageing and solderability testing. These methods, together with micro section facilities, ensure optimum plating conditions that guarantee your electro-plating specifications.
No matter how simple or complex the requirement, Harwin has the in-house capability to assemble and package your requirements. Harwin manufactured assembly machines and in process visual inspection ensure short lead times and the highest levels of quality.
Using our in-house designed assembly and packaging machines, your requirements for special marking, testing or packaging can be easily incorporated into the component manufacturing process.
